Latin America and the Caribbean

Women in Latin America and the Caribbean have made impressive strides towards gender equality. Widely adopted legal reforms have criminalized domestic violence, and girls are attending school at nearly the same rate as boys. With the election of four female presidents since 2006, the region has earned global prominence as a leader in women’s political leadership at the executive level.

And yet, women’s access to equal opportunities — social, economic and political — remains restricted. We collaborate with women leaders and strengthen their networks throughout the region to increase opportunity and form lasting change.
