The World in 2011 Festival, December 2-4, NYC

For more than two decades, The Economist has published The World in..., a compilation of predictions on the trends, issues and ideas that will shape the coming year. The festival will feature insights from editors of The Economist, World in 2011 contributors and other personalities who will drive events in the year ahead.

Vital Voices is a supporter of the Women's Economic Opportunity track and will introduce "Breakthrough," a short film offering perspectives on the importance of investing in women from members of the La Pietra Coalition to Advance Women and the World. CEO Alyse Nelson will introduce a Saturday morning panel discussion with Zainab Salbi, founder and chief executive officer, Women for Women International; Mu Sochua, member of parliament, Cambodia; and Kah Walla, director, Strategies S.A. Moderator will be Leo Abruzzese of the Economist Intelligence Unit.
