Call for Applications: 2013 Women Vendors and Exhibition Forum - JULY 15 DEADLINE

Program Overview

The Women Vendors Exhibition and Forum (WVEF) is an annual event of the Global Platform for Action on Sourcing from Women Vendors, launched in September 2010 at the International Trade Centre's (ITC) World Export Development Forum.

The Global Platform has a ten-year strategy to link buyers, sellers and institutions to build the capacity of suppliers to meet buyers’ requirements for the ultimate purpose of facilitating sales. The WVEF is the annual event of the Global Platform for Action on Sourcing from Women Vendors — it brings together Buyers, Trade Support Institutions (TSIs) and Women Vendors to explore business opportunities, share experiences, and participate in capacity building workshops. 

Since 2010, the WVEF has brought together over 650 women vendors, buyers (multinational corporations, medium-sized companies and Gcvernments) and TSIs from over 48 countries resulting in business agreements valued at over U.S. $20 million. Learn more about WVEF here.

This year's WVEF will be held November 19-21, 2013, in New Delhi, India.

WVEF 2013 brings together buyers and sellers in the following sectors:

  • Information Technology, Telecommunications and Business Process Outsourcing;
  • The Built Environment including Clean & Green Technology, Construction and Mining;
  • Coffee;
  • Garments and Apparel;
  • Office Products and Services;
  • Suppliers to Major International Events; and
  • Shipping and Logistics.

 

Who Can Apply

Participation is determined through a competitive selection process. Women entrepreneurs wishing to apply as vendors must:

  • Have a company that is in one of the identified sectors (mentioned above);
  • Have a company that is 51% or more owned, operated and controlled by one or more women;
  • Be a member of a Trade Support Institution (TSI), or the women entrepreneurs herself is a member;
  • Be fluent in English

Other factors taken in to consideration are:

  • Key business indicators such as number of years in operation, annual turnover and trade volumes;
  • Possession of relevant standards and certifications; and
  • Buyer interest.

Vital Voices is unable to provide or subsidize the cost of travel and attendance at the 2013 Women Vendors Exhibition and Forum. Any future decision regarding sponsorship for successful applicants to WVEF is subject to available funding.
